Grumman F-14D Super Tomcat
Hey Everyone, Zerø here. And I present to you: my 4th Tomcat.
"Tomcats!"
-C.W "Mover" Lemoine everytime he sees an F-14.
Tomcats are a pain to make. No, seriously. It's hard to get the shape right, let alone the flight model.
Introduction:
The Grumman F-14D Super Tomcat is an american twin-engined, tandem two-seated, swing wing, carrierborne, air superiority fighter. This variant in particular is the latest variant in the Tomcat family line. The F-14 has proven it's worth many times before, and was retired on September of 2006 and replaced by the F/A-18E Super Hornet. The Tomcat family is also the only aircraft capable of launching the heavyweight BVR air to air missile, AIM-54 Phoenix. Currently, the only F-14 in service is with the Iranian Air Force.
Loadout:
- 1x M61A1 Vulcan
- 2x AIM-9M Sidewinder
- 4x AIM-7P Sparrow
- 2x AIM-54C Phoenix

- Fully automatic Wing Sweep adjustments, activate group 8 for manual adjustment. Oversweep is disabled once aircraft is airborne.
- Somewhat, accurate control surface movements. I read the NATOPS manual for this, it better be worth while.
- General flight model improvements over the last iterations.

Author's Notes:
- First of all, I am really sorry. I rushed the aircraft because I was originally trying to do other things with it, but alas, I don't have the time nor resource to do much.
- Second of all, I'm a bit occupied with War Challenge United, as I'm participating in it as a Manufacturer, so yeah. I've gotten a bit busy and couldn't spend most of my time with the Tomcat.
- Back to that first note, I mentioned that I was trying to do other things with it, but I didn't have the time nor resources to do it. Some of you are probably wondering about it, and some of you probably have already guessed it. If you haven't, look at my previous Tomcat. Yeah, that's what I was trying to do.
- Fun fact, some of the parts that was put onto this aircraft was a reuse from the older Tomcat to save time. This included cockpit parts, fuel tanks, and the IRST.
Once again, I'm very sorry about it being rushed, I may or may not fix the problems it has in the future, but who knows. Knowing who I am, I probably won't. But other than that, please enjoy, have fun and...

@Zeratick as much as I hate being that guy, it's not the mig-23 its the Su-24. The Flogger looks similar, but not the same
@CallsignTig as much as I hate being that guy, it's not the F-111 it's the mig 23. The aardvark looks similar, but not the same.

TOP GUN
@CallsignTig
unfortunately, yeah
I tried going for a realistic sense, but to be honest, I didn't do a very good job.
mainly because I was just tired of continuing it, as it costs a lot of performance on my device.
Love the way you went with this, although unfortunately it handles like a pig for me, like even my F-111 (a.k.a Hellkeska) turns better. Sink rate also builds up really quickly, making landing really difficult.
I attribute it to the SimplePlanes physics though, looking at the specs on here, power to weight and everything is highly realistic, but unfortunately SimplePlanes physics happened lol.
Shape and aesthetic wise though, your bird is fantastic!
probably the most realistic tomcat on the site performance wise, love the loadout, love the flight model
@ZeroWithSlashedO
Yeah lol, I nearly died reading that. Looks great though!
@LoneSpaceGaming
did I seriously put that in
guh
Called it a WSO in the back… really, man?
mr top gun itself
Pretty cool, its sorta weird to handle on the roll though due to the fact that you have airbrakes as spoilers.
I was the 3rd upvote and now it's the 2nd best rated for today
