History: The Gunther-Schmitt GS-15 series was a short-lived but very successful line of aircraft. It was designed, built, and introduced in 1943, and served from then to the end of the war. With only around 1,500 planes built, the loss rate was one GS-15 per one hundred American aircraft shot down by it.
