The McDonnell Douglas F-15E Strike Eagle is an American all-weather multirole strike fighter derived from the McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle. The F-15E was designed in the 1980s for long-range, high-speed interdiction without relying on escort or electronic-warfare aircraft. F-15E has a ferry range of more than 3,500 miles. F-15E's role is as a long-range interdiction and air superiority aircraft. The F-15E aircraft can carry payloads up to 23,000lb. More than 1,300 F-15s are in service worldwide.
