Constitution Class Starship

Space; the final frontier.
These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise.
Its five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations; to boldly go where no man has gone before.

Ever wanted to be Jim Kirk? Evern anted to make out with a green chick? Ever wished you had pointy ears? Ever gotten drunk, slicked back your hair, put on your best red sweater and affected a faux Scottish accent then run around the house bemoaning the fact that you; "cannae change the laws 'o physics, captin"?

No? - well, me either... ahem...

This is a wee departure from the norm for me - a revisiting of a youth well spent (or wasted, whatever) watching James T. Kirk and his brave crew beat up / mate with / exploderize all types of interesting aliens.

Yes - I was a trekkie. I'm better now.

Anyway - this is a Constitution Class Heavy Cruiser from Star Trek. The USS Enterprise belonged to this class of starship. She is reasonably detailed, the lights took bloody ages, so I highly recommend that you try her out at night.

She flies, too - and ground starts are fully possible.

The controls are thus;

AG1 - activate impulse engines
AG2 - activate manuvering thrusters
AG3 - nothing
AG4 - hes dead, Jim.
AG5 - Arm phasers! (well, no clip machine gun...)
AG6 - Warp 9. Engage.
AG7 - Activate inertial dampers (this turns on the gyros - yes, plural - that allows you to control this thing.
AG8 - Activate structural integrity field (this also activates the auto stability gyro)

To get her flying, you need to;

  1. Activate AG 1,2,7 and keep AG8 active.
  2. Throttle up. you shoudl lift off vertically
  3. Control forward movement with vtol
  4. Control attitude with pitch / roll / yaw and trim.

Live long and prosper.

    Thanks @Alien ! Ive built a fair few of these, so the building of the model was not too taxing. Making her fly? That was complete hell.
