Dawn of Aviation Challenge (CLOSED)
Welcome to the Dawn of Aviation Challenge! As participants, you will be tasked with creating a replica of an aircraft or glider that was made during the end of the 1800s or during the first 20 years of the 1900s. Examples include the Wright Flyer, Langley Aerodrome, and Blériot XI.
Rules:
1. No mods can be used, although XML modding is allowed
2. Keep the part count at 150 parts or under. I know you can't tell how many parts the plane has in the app, so I won't be too strict about this, but try your best.
3. The aircraft must be relevant to the time period of about 1890-1920.
4. You are only allowed one entry. Make it count!
5. Your entry must be a successor.
6. You can use any of the alternate cockpits in the game.
7. Your entry must be a replica of a real life aircraft.
8. You must provide the name of the real life aircraft that you modeled your entry after.
Criteria:
Your plane will be graded on different subjects. The points you score in each area will be added up to determine the winners.

Sounds great @SmileMore13
Glad you had fun. Just letting you know, I hope to do another challenge later on, possibly on futuristic airliner concepts. I'm a little busy right now, so I don't have much time for SP, but I can let you know when I start the next challenge if you'd like. @SmileMore13

I'm a little busy this evening, so I don't think they'll be up tonight. However, I've graded 8 of the 10 planes that were submitted (two planes were disqualified). Most likely I'll finish the grading tomorrow, and post the results around noon (EST).@Fishbowl1121
To add to the excitement, I might start rating the planes so the results can be in shortly after the challenge ends. Good luck. @Fishbowl1121
You can find the plane info on mobile, right? @SmileMore13
Thank you. I never knew that.@2Pilots
@SpartanAirplanes Eh, fair enough.
Sorry, but no. @Ian1231100
So I can't enter a fictional plane based on that era? Bummer.
I understand, but I still wouldn't worry if I were you. @GermanAircrafts
just uploaded my redesign of a Handley Page I made ages ago.
Nothing is final yet. Im not grading the planes until the end of the contest. @GermanAircrafts
Thanks! I'll stop bothering you now. Good luck in the challenge. @GermanAircrafts
Thanks! That all I need, but do you know the name of the plane?@GermanAircrafts
Can you check your internet history? The picture can't be too far gone if you built the plane today.@GermanAircrafts
You said recon craft from 1915, right?@GermanAircrafts
I'd just like to ask, what is your entry a replica of?@GermanAircrafts
I understand. I'll take care of it.@GermanAircrafts
No problem! Thank you for your entry. Good luck!@SmileMore13
I'd like to see what you came up with. @GermanAircrafts
The entry must be a successor to the creation in this post. To enter your airplane, save all but the cockpit of the plane you posted as a subassembly. Then, download this post, and add the subassembly of your plane to the cockpit featured. Just throw away the letters and words attached to the cockpit. @SmileMore13
Great! Hold on to that. Good luck.@GermanAircrafts
Thanks! Good luck with your creation! @ZephyrSystems
I tried making one once, and it wasn't easy.@MaximusTheMinimus
