Regnant IFA-36 Striker (Silver Special)
The Regnant IFA-36 Striker is a medium speed and medium range interceptor aircraft which can carry 4 fire-and-forget air-to-air missiles.
History
In 1977 the T.A.F requested an unusual order for a medium speed interceptor, the program was called Striker and the requirements were:
- A speed of around 600-750 km/h
- Carry 4 air air missiles
- That has 2 engines
- A radar from beyond the human field of vision
- Have a rear-swept fixed wing
- Life support for high altitude
Finally two companies presented themselves: Lest design office and Regnant Aircraft Co.
The winner of the order was Regnant with the IFA-36. An interceptor with good presentation and good design.
Problems and solutions
The plane has a configuration of engines one on top of the other, which is why on the first flight of the prototype it was revealed that the jet exhaust conduct was overheating with the risk of melting mid-flight. This was later solved by redirecting some air from the intake. the engines through a channel in the middle of the two engines, thus solving the overheating of the airplane jet exhaust conduct.

I love how the fuselage transitions into the wing and nose looks very good. The overall shape of the aircraft looks not bad, but strange.
