Auto Credit Based on TriStar's (Fictional only) Battle of Midway Challenge
The J5-Y was a limited production fighter bomber built for the Imperial Japanese navy between 1940 and 1943. The fighter featuring all metal construction self sealing fuel tanks provisions for one 120kg bomb or fuel tank and 6 type 30 12mm machine guns. The aircraft was a direct competitior to the A6M Zero. During the battle of Midway 9 J5-Y’s flew off the carriers Akagi and Soryu claming 3 kills. After the pivitol battle the type was cancelled due to metal shortage. Of the 70 aircraft produced none are known to have survived the war.
