IAI C-38A Courier, United States Navy
The C-38 Courier, the Navy’s latest Test and Evaluation Support Aircraft, is a derivative Gulfstream G100 formerly known as the Astra SPX. This twin-engine jet is used as a test and evaluation chase aircraft for P-8A, E-2D, MQ-4C, E-6B and C-130 testing and as an airborne radar target. The Aircraft, specifically this one, is used by Air Test and Evaluation Squadron 20 (VX-20) based in NAS Patuxent River. After the D.C. Air National Guard retired their fleet of C-38As, 2 were transferred to the United States Navy.
