The Bf-109 E-3 is one of the most successfull aircraft of WWII. The brainchild of Willy Messerschmitt, it was used by the Luftwaffe in the battle of britain, and nearly brought the RAF to its knees, from the Bf-109A, to the Bf-109K,the Spanish Civil War, to The Second World War, the story of the infamous Messerschmitt fighter is packed with action and success. The most sucessfull fighter ace in history, Adolf Galland, flew the Bf-109, and after 705 combat sorties, obtained 104 kills with his various 109s. To this day there is still one flying Bf-109, ironically powered by the Rolls Royce Merlin Engine.
