Heinkel 2 Close Air Support Fighter
This plane, made in World War II by the German Reich, was manufactured by Heinkel Luftkrafteworke, and ordered by Josef Goebbels for the Luftwaffe. It was used to support Axis troops on the ground for Blitzkriegs. These planes flew very close to the ground, about 20-45 meters. They swooped up and down to pick off enemy infantry on the ground. If needed, they shot down enemy planes in the sky as well. Because they were built for ground support, they weren't really used above 20,000 feet unless if long distance travel was needed. Some did not have the Balkenkreuz or swastika on them to disguise them as civil planes, so I did the same with this one. These planes were extremely successful, and saw their use thoughout the war. Their most notable battle was their role as infantry support during the battle of Stalingrad. This model took appx. 5 days to make.
