The flattard-class SSTO was designed to go to low earth orbit, and eject to a lunar flyby. It carried no cargo, but was fitted with a luxury three- seat cabin. The primary users, from whom it gets its name, were people who believed the earth was flat, and had been recommended a trip to space to see the earth's curvature. Having seen the evidence of the earth's curvature, the moon being far away, and the sun being even further away, the flattards concluded that the earth was still (sigh) fat-free the sole reason that their magic book says so.
