USCSS Prometheus
The USCSS Prometheus was a Heliades-class space exploration vehicle built and operated by Weyland Corp. It was a revolutionary starship, and at the time of its launch was the most advanced and expensive faster-than-light space exploration vehicle ever constructed. It was billed as an official United States Commercial Starship in 2091.
It has been a major task for me to not only re-create this design with moving engines, but to balance it with it's changing center of mass to act as normal as possible in the games atmosphere.
Before taking this for a flight it's important that you understand the controls listed below to get the best experience:
Throttle up to 60% or more to take off. To control in hover mode use the following:
- Yaw (to direct the nose; yaw right will point the nose left and vise versa. There is a slight side effect of roll with this)
- Roll (controls the horizontal tilt by operating RCNs on the left and right sides of the ship)
- Pitch (controls forward and backwards lean)
- VTOL slider (tilts the engines and can be used to move forward or backwards if used in moderation)
To sustain normal flight throttle up to 100% and put the VTOL all the way down once acheiving your prefered height, but ideally while the ship is still level:
- Pitch (up on the on the control initially to counter the change in CoM but then the ship will level out after getting to 200mph+)
- Yaw (is now effectively roll. You will need to use this often to keep the ship level as the drag points are not symettrical)
To land (which I have not done to date because of frame rate issues on my phone) you will need to first slow the ship down then gradually lose altitude while keeping level. Slow down very gradually by sliding the VTOL back to center a little bit at a time. The ship will tip forward because of the increased drag of the engines so there are airbrakes connected to the downwards pitch control on the top of the ship to counter this. Used equally the ship should slow down while staying level.
As always have fun!

72.5k Authros@rth1131999 No problem. Originally the scaling was off because of getting it to fly but I've spent so long on it that now it's quite simple. I have a really good thruster set up that will work in any unusually shaped plane. I'm definitely going to be correcting the scaling on this in the next version.9.8 years ago

4,841 NovaTopazactually, I was referring to the areas like length in front of the engines, area behind it(there is a decent amount, but meh, it's practically impossible to do in SP, only the equivalent of 1 block, no one would notice it. I just happen to have watched the movie, so I know most of the scaling), and the bar looks a bit too long. Otherwise, it pretty much looks spot on. Didn't want to put you down, so I figured I'd let you continue with it. @Authros9.8 years ago

72.5k AuthrosPicking a beta test phase to upload this plane was pretty poor so I apologise. I am working on a leaner meaner version currently which I will make available once everyone is back on level terms. @rth1131999 You mentioned some scaling issues, if you list them for me I'll be sure to include them in my new version. I have already 1. Moved the cockpit above the main nose cone, 2. Made the observation deck smaller, 3. Heightened the engines, 4. Enlarged the engine arms, 5. Added a working cargo lift, 6. Shortened the antennas. I'm looking to also improve the rear end a bit.9.8 years ago

18.7k TeusIt sais: "This plane requires the BETA version." And it gives an error while trying to download it. Not sure if it's just me.9.8 years ago

72.5k Authros@stingray I am already working on a mobile friendly version with just 1 modded fuel tank instead of 70+. It already runs a lot better.9.8 years ago

50.4k StingrayCannot download due to SP's bug, yet from you instructions posted, this may require a keyboard and you encountered similar balancing issues I discovered when I built a simpler, phone-friendly USCSS Prometheus last week. Await the bug fix, this looks awesome!9.8 years ago

4,841 NovaTopazLooks pretty good, and although I have my complaints, it's only with dimension scaling to other parts. Pretty sure it was needed like that to get it flying though, so not going to complain.9.8 years ago

72.5k AuthrosIt might be because I'm on beta and the xml files are now separate. @andrewgarrison9.8 years ago

Dev weebabyseamusThis looks awesome, the colors and everything are spot on. My iPhone won't let me download it for some reason, keeps giving me a bug error. Gonna have to fly it on PC.9.8 years ago
