Introduction
British Aerospace TSR-2 is an unfortunate development plan initiated by British Aerospace in the early 1960s. At the time of the plan, it was the most advanced combat aircraft in the world, with a maximum speed of twice the speed of sound and the supersonic cruise capability that was only popularized by the fifth-generation fighter jets in the West.
The thrust of the British Aerospace TSR-2 prototype is roughly the same as that of the SR-71, but because its weight is much lighter than the latter, its energy replenishment is faster than the latter. But the project was eventually cancelled, making way for the F-111 series to enter the market.
