Developed by Molvinia Land Systems, the AMV-1 Gladiator is an 8x8 Multirole Vehicle.

The main feature of the Gladiator is its modular design, which allows the incorporation of different turrets, weapons, sensors, or communications systems on the same carriage. Designs exist for different APC and IFV versions, communications versions, ambulances and different fire support versions, armed with large caliber mortar and gun systems.

The vehicle has Excellent levels of mine protection and can withstand explosions of up to 10 kilograms of TNT. The Gladiator has protection levels up to 30 mm APFSDS frontal arc.

The good mobility (combining speed, agility, and crew comfort) in rough terrain, enabled by the sophisticated but rugged hydropneumatic suspension adjusting each wheel individually is yet another feature of the Gladiator.

First developed as a replacement to the 6x6 MR6 "Hoplite" APC, an official concept study of the vehicle was ordered in 2010, which was ready in 2011. Full production began in 2015, with the first Gladiators delivered in 2016.

APC

Equipped with a 20mm RWCS, as well as a Barricade APS and smoke grenade launchers, as well as space for 8-12 passengers.

IFV

Equipped with a 30mm Chaingun on an unmanned turret, as well as twin ATGM-8 Missile tubes and twin Barricade APS. Space for up to 10 passengers.

120mm MGS

Equipped with a 120mm MK4C Cannon and a 7.77mm Coaxial Machine gun.

Medical

No weapons.

Command
Equipped with an advanced communications suite, it's armament includes a manually-operated 50.cal Machine gun.

Mortar
Equipped with an externally-mounted double-barrel 120mm Mortar system with advanced fire control.
