As part of the Modernization Program, the XFV-20 Topaz series was born for the purposes of a quick and secure way to bring the troops to the enemies. Ideally used in urban warfare, the Topaz has almost the same characteristics of the XMT-10 Endurance. Sharing the top speed, armor characteristics, and overall size. This particular variant, the XFV-20B2-X, is made for combating infantry, thus giving it an official classification of an Infantry Fighting Vehicle. This can carry up to 18 Standard units, or a 10 man Strike Force Unit. Also, the Topaz is based on the XHT-10 Hull, which contains a non standard driving control unit. Modifications were made to make the vehicle more intuitive to control.

The vehicle is also equipped with, aside from full ERA protection, Six Deployable Tactical Heavy Shielding (DTHS) where one can deploy a shield capable of withstanding an onslaught of heavy machine gun fires, Grenades, Ramming, and about 5 TOWs. The shield is also remountable but it requires, up to the current version, an ARV to reattach as the 2000 lb shield is heavy for infantry to carry.

Weapons mounted on this variant is a 20mm multi barreled auto cannon MK-201 typically used on Attack Aircrafts used by the SFA Air Force, which by trial is extremely effective on light to medium forces of infantry and LAVs. Along with this is also 3 Inferno II. A missile used by the Air Force modified to fit the ATGM role of the Vehicle
