McDonnell Douglas F-4E Phantom II
F-4E Phantom II
Author Notes
After nearly 9 months in the making, I’m proudly presenting the world famous F-4E Phantom II. A true beauty and a beast at the same time, becoming the first jet to reach speeds excess of Mach II, topping out at Mach 2.2. Would first like to give my absolute thanks to the @SPMC, most especially @ChiChiWerx for guiding me heavily towards an accurate and polished result. ChiChi also helped with the overall look, performance and character of the plane.
I also understand that this craft is far from perfect, but it was more so an experiment in attempting to replicate specific flight characteristics from a certain plane, which I believe has been accomplished with relative success. Anyways, hope you enjoy flying this beauty!

Flight Statistics/Performance Quirks
Take-off
- Flaps to half setting
- Trim full down (pitching up)
- Throttle to 100% (+AB if full load)
- Pitch up at around 130mph (170mph if full load)
- Retract Gear
- Retract flaps
- Maintain pitch angle of 10-15 degrees until 5000ft
Landing
- Approach runway at 300mph
- Flaps to half setting
- Trim half down (adjust according to load)
- Throttle down to 35% (60% if full load)
- Maintain AOA of ~ 15 degrees
- Flaps to full setting
- Extend Gear
- Descend at around 5m/s
- Touchdown at 3m/s on rear/main wheels
- Maintain nose up position for aerobraking
- Lower craft onto front wheel and deploy spoilers (brake) and slow aircraft down
In-Flight
- Fuel consumption is rapid, AB's will consume your entire fuel supply within 15mins
- Beware stall when pulling high angled banked turns (especially with no load), use yaw to adjust roll angle in high AOA situations
- 500mph military/800mph maximum at sea level
- 1500mph at 40 000ft

@CoolPeach I would just like to say that the F-4 is not the first jet aircraft to reach speeds in excess of Mach 2. That honor goes to the F-104.
Very good its just that it keeps turning when i takeoff
Lit I have no cockpit so this is wayyy better than mine
Nice afterburner action.
@CoolPeach thank tou very much.
That section is tricky, but you could possibly make it better if you panelled it differently. @Shootingstar07
@CoolPeach well iit is the tail section, the curve around the engine nuzzle and the tail bloom. I really cannot think of another better solution than yours.
Just reverse engineer it. Take apart sections you like and see how it’s made. My plane isn’t exactly perfect so you could definitely improve it. @Shootingstar07
I am building a phantom too and I may need to use some of your design...but I a don't want to be a copycat...what can I do?.....
@hRmm dont change the graphics change the physics that helps a hell of alot More
@CoolPeach I just downloaded this on my S10e and it runs about perfect
Only when you frick some stuff up does it lag and even then it isnt that bad
Beauty of a craft my grandpa used to fly an F-4 In Nam
Nah it doesnt hold on lowest graphics either.
Im gonna try this on my Ipad.Wish me luck.
@CoolPeach ok
Currently making an F-16c, maybe later?
@Schiefensnarglez
@CoolPeach can you make an f15 please?
Does anyone know the difference between the Phantom and the Phantom II?
Just incredible
No way..
Oh I'm sure it is. I've just never seen an F-4 with that long of a nose. But now I know. Great build btw! @CoolPeach
Sure, ill take a look@Brields95
I was wondering if I could get your help with a plane I'm building.
Yep, F-4E’s have longer noses than the other models. It’s a pretty decent blueprint match.
@Hedero
Its nose is a bit long. Do some models actually have lengthy noses like that?@CoolPeach
Check description, though it’s around 900 parts
