The F-83 was part of the Simple Planes Navy Modernization program also known as (SPNMP). It was a program in 1978 that aimed to replace SimplePlane navy’s 1960s fighter aircraft. It was also to have a new fighter jet to fly with the Navy’s latest fighter, the F-78 Blue Falcon. The F-83 is a multirole air superiority, single seater twin engine fighter jet that can go up to 1500 km/h making it kinda slow comparing to other modern fighters. It can be equipped with 8 missiles, and 2x 20 millimeter Gatling gun. As a navy fighter, it is obvious that it can fold it’s wings upward to allow more space to use up less space for more fighters per carrier. Called the “Fugle” as the fighter looks as if the MiG-29 Fulcrum and the F-15 Eagle had a baby.
