4.0 years ago
In 1940, The United States commissioned Stanmich with $20,000 to construct a fighter "using turbine engines to provide the aircraft thrust". This resulted in the Stanmich - J 22 Asteroid, named for its fast pace relative to fighters of the time. it also carried 6x 40lb explosives, and dual 7.7mm machine guns. the engines were built for the purpose, and were referred to as the Asteroid Rockets, classified manufacturer. these engines were designed with a really modern design, oddly enough. made for AndrePlaysSP's Fighter Jet Building Challenge.
