Wiki
The I.Ae. 29 is a single-engine single-seat piston engine fighter aircraft used by the Fuerza Aerea Argentina between 1949–1954, the design came up with the requirements of the Argentine Air force in search of a long range interceptor that accomplished the roles of fighter and long range escort missions, as such the FMA was assigned for the mision, in wich it was used the experience and knowledge from the formerly used Fiat G.55 centauro and with external help of American engineers of the NAA (North American Aviation) in wich had worked with the P-51 mustang, the result ended with a hybrid mix between Italian and American engineering. The aircraft remained in short service to maintain the gap for the newer jet aircraft.
