Bulletproof reliability

history

The 2,997 cc (3.0 L; 182.9 cu in) 2JZ was produced from 1991 (first released in the 1991 Toyota Aristo) to 2007. Cylinder bore and stroke is 86 mm × 86 mm (3.39 in × 3.39 in). VVT-i variable valve timing was first introduced in 1995 starting with the 2JZ-GE, but did not come to the 2JZ-GTE and the US-market 2JZ-GE engines until mid-1997 for the 1998 model year onwards. This engine is not merely a stroked version of the 1JZ (although they share a common bore size, bore pitch, and general architecture), but has a taller block deck and longer connecting rods to accommodate the 14.5 mm (0.57 in) stroke increase.

Applications:

  • Toyota Altezza AS 300/Lexus IS 300
  • Toyota Aristo/Lexus GS 300
  • Toyota Crown/Crown Majesta
  • Toyota Mark II/Chaser/Cresta
  • Toyota Origin
  • Toyota Progres
  • Toyota Soarer/Lexus SC 300
  • Toyota Supra

Builders note: This one was a test for myself to make a detailed engine and I feel it came out pretty dang good. The 2jz is a popular engine and sense it's an inline, thought it would be easier than a V engine for a first challenge. Rn it's scaled down to the accurate irl dimensions that I could find online. I tried my best to build a well detailed yet part efficient engine and hope I succeeded. There is a turbo version of this as well. Plans for the engine for me is maybe a mk.4 supra, and I might make a formula ford style car, just not sure weather I wanna do the N/A or turbo version for it. I will probably experiment around with making some v8s soon like a NASCAR v8.

@AceA1 not entirely sure how you mean. There's not really a way to make it work, as I said it's just for looks.

@AceA1 no just a model. You can add an engine part and it'll work but. Engines in this game are just for looks.

@MrCOPTY yea ik what your talking about. Hey I guess that's how things go tho. I like the supra, cool looking car and from what I hear is a very good handling and stout car with an engine that is very easy to add power so I get alot of the hype but also 2.1 mil for a Japanese comuter is pretty crazy.

@PapaKernels bro supra is cool, but because covid in 2020 & tiktok, 13yo kids start talking about things they didn't know anything about before, for example the supra, personally ig it's cool but it's very overrated, i mean the 1st supra Mk.5 sold with 2.1 million, that's wild 💀

@MrCOPTY lmao, was thinking about that too. Actually saw a mk.4 right hand drive strolling around my town which was really cool. Think the first mk.4 I ever saw in person. Looked super clean
