Nicknamed 'Warthog' or just 'Hog', the A-10C started its Brrrrrrrrtttttting career in 1976. The A-10C Thunderbolt II is one of the oldest and the best Close Air Support aircraft. Unfortunately, the early Warthog, um, kinda sucked. The A-10A had no real sensor equipment. It also sadly caused many blue-on-blue situations/confrontations. The A-10As updated under the incremental Precision Engagement (PE) program and became the well loved A-10C. After this update, the A-10 became a CAS workhorse.
