The F-113 Viking is the fifth entry into my 'Alternate Reality Cold War' series. The Viking is an all weather long range tactical fighter capable of air to air and air to ground operations. The model presented, the C model, is the interceptor variant of the fighter. This version consist of the Aircrafts CAP loadout and consists of 2 AIM-9m 'sidewinders' (Gurdians), 6 AIM-120c 'slammers' (Interceptors) and two external drop tanks (Drop with A.G 7). Back-Story: The Vietnam War concludes with more than 3000 U.S aircraft shot down. This comes to a big shock to the Americans as they rely heavily on the radar guided missile and loose their technique in dogfighting, believing the age of dogfighting is over. Because of this, the U.S Air Force calls for the construction of a new fighter that is highly maneuverable, can travel up to mach 2 and has a range higher than 1000 miles. Many aircraft designs are submitted but only one is considered. The F-113 Viking becomes the result of the FX program and successfully defeats the Russian's new Mig, the MIG-26.
