The FL-20S is decently fast compared to many of their fighters, although newer types are much faster. @Pilotmario

NFK fighters such as the FL-20 relied on maneuverability. We relied on speed.

During the many skirmishes with the Luftstreitkräfte Teuton and Vardanian Air Force in the initial phases, the PAF fighters were far more respected. The Teuton aircraft outran NFK fighters, and although finding it challenging to engage a defensive circle, it was manageable with coordinated boom and zoom strikes.

In contrast, encounters with the PAF were nothing less than frightening. PAF fighters relied on hit and run tactics, usually striking the flight or element leader in a high speed pass with missiles or guns. Sometimes the wingman was targeted instead in order to drive fear into them. The fact it was a matter of who will not return instead of if someone will not return struck a deep-seated fear in them.

I suppose our objectives played a part in this. The NFKAF aimed to destroy as many fighters, while we simply wanted to discourage further intrusions. @SimpleTechAndResearch

I mean, it really depends on the role. Maneuverability is beneficial when requiring a defensive stance, such as when Pummelers must defend from air attack. Speed is beneficial when requiring an offensive stance, like pursuing and killing fighters. @PINK

Tbh, this jet hardly compares to ours. The roll rate is crazy, but elevator control is lacking. It's 2,500mph slower than our Bandit Cobras and PDI Vipers.
