The crash of Colgan Air Flight 3407
While on approach, the aircraft had slowed to 167 mph, after which the pilot had requested the flaps be set to 15°, the aircraft continued to slow to 155 mph and six seconds after the flaps had been set to 15° the stick shaker activated, warning of an impending stall, the aircraft then slowed to 151 mph. After the stock shaker activated, the pilot pushed the throttle to 75% and pulled back on the yoke, instead of pushing the yoke down. This in turn increased the stall speed, causing the aircraft to slow more the pilot as well fought the stick shaker which was trying to recover the aircraft, dooming the aircraft even more. In the last moments the aircraft rolled to the right and crashed into houses, ending the lives of all 49 on board and 1 on ground.
May all 49 passengers and crew and 1 person on the ground Rest in Peace
