late 1944 a Sturmtiger was outnumbered and nocked out by a handful of Pershings in the streets of west berlin . once the war was over American troops took the Sturmtiger as a war trophy. The united states, wanting to see the capabilities of German equitment, fixed it enough to use. after evaluating and testing the tank was sold to the general public along with multiple other American surplus in 1948. it was also sold with 6 rounds and a broken loading crane.
