''RailPiercer'' RailCannon Turret
Thanks to those who helped me, particularly PioThePioneer, they fixed the turret unbeknownst to me while I was trying more things, and I eventually fixed it myself. However, I shan’t neglect to give them credit, as they wanted to help out!
Hello there, I’m glad to see you’re here! Today, PyrhPan presents it’s newest toy- errr uhh, weapon. Yes, that’s what I meant. Totally.
All jokes aside, this is not a weapon to underestimate! Trifle with this beast, and it’ll surely be the last thing you do. Made with the intention of being mounted on Naval Warships, and even mounted in stationary sites on the perimeter of the island(s) as a point-defense gun, it certainly makes itself known on the battlefield. Now as with most, if not all of our crafts, weapons, and the sorts at PyrhPan, it is made with a heavy intimidation factor, in order to deter any potential enemies, and make them think twice before attacking us. You see, we are never the first aggressor. Rather, it is the idiot at the end of the trigger that enacts an attack on us, who fires the first shot. From there, we decide whether or not it’s worth attacking them back, and by that I mean a scenario of:
“Maybe it was an accidental misfire, and they had no actual intentions of attacking us. We’ll let it play out, and if they fire again, it’s safe to say they’re trying to attack us. And if they do attack us once again, we’ll attack them back only if what they did is significant, like if they damaged a small structure only slightly, we’ll let them off with a volley of warning shots, as the damages they caused are completely minor, and easily repairable. However, if they fired at a vehicle, and/or destroyed it in the process, then we’ll leave them with something they can remember us by.”
Anyway yeah idk what that was supposed to be but say hello to the “RailPiercer” RailCannon Turret, a terrifying combination of excessive force, and probably something from an Anime:
Control Manuel:
• Yaw: Traverse the turret, 360° Rotation capable
• TRIM: Elevate & Depress the vertical aim, 15° upwards, 5° downwards
• Loadout: Twin 260mm. RailCannons, Integrated Radar, Countermeasures
Weapon Specifications:
• Range: This RailCannon has a terrifying range, it is capable of hitting targets at SnowStone, all the way from Maywar, and vice versa. Additionally, it also has very high accuracy, the almost comically long barrels promote immense accuracy at long ranges.
• Muzzle Velocity: Using a new Electromagnetic Gravity Well Acceleration, we can fire our rounds at immensely high velocities. This new method of propellant is capable of firing our RailCannon Spikes at a velocity of just over 6 miles per second, that’s nearly 4X the muzzle velocity of conventional RailGuns! One thing to note is that the caliber of this RailCannon is smaller than our previous model, the 500mm. “WidowMaker”, but the heavily increased muzzle velocity makes up for it in terms of kinetic damage, and even explosive damage as well.
• Rate Of Fire: Much like most of our high caliber weapons, the RailPiercer is fitted with MMT Modules, Autoloader Carousels, and even magic, some may say, in order for the highest rate of fire possible. With twin barrels, this allows the firing process to be much more relaxed, one barrel fires, and then it can cool down while the other barrel proceeds to fire shortly after. This was necessary, as the new acceleration method produces a lot more heat than the conventional RailGun, and if we implemented the same fire rate limitations used on previous turrets, the RailPiercer would likely damage itself, and it could even tear itself apart, although this hasn’t been confirmed yet. For context, a previous RailCannon Turret we’ve made at PyrhPan, the “WidowMaker”, has only a single barrel, but the same fire rate as the RailPiercer. This is because the WidowMaker uses traditional RailGun propulsion methods, and doesn’t heat up nearly as much as the newer ones, and therefore, it’s autoloader and MMT Probes can be calibrated to load and fire faster, with little to no risk. For reference, the WidowMaker’s rate of fire is roughly 1 Spike per second, and if that were applied to the RailPiercer, it would have a fire rate of 2 Spikes per second, which is only terrifying.
• Radar: Additionally, this turret has its own Radar System, which makes even the toughest shots easier to perform. Simply arm the Radar, select a target, and fire! This will fire a pulse outwards and upwards, allowing you to acquire an aerial visual of your target. From there, it should be much easier to fire a shot, especially from a level surface. For context, this radar pulse would go much further outwards than it does in SP, but since the maximum ground target distance in SP is only 10 Miles, I’ve configured the radar pulse to stop at roughly that distance.
• CIWS AutoTurret: This RailCannon Turret is equipped with it’s own CIWS, making it capable of fending off most if not all air attacks, within reason of course. It’s not like it would work against something like a 1,000mm. HASG Turret, found on the XFWB. Do note that this CIWS, and it’s FunkyTrees code were made by someone else, but it’s been so long that I’ve forgotten who’s made it, and I’d like to credit them for it! So if anyone can find who made it, that would be greatly appreciated. Also, I may or may not have modified it to be even more ridiculous, we tend to do that a lot at PyrhPan.
One last thing to note, is that you may notice that upon firing it, contrary to what you may believe may come out of those barrels, is actually very quiet. The RailPiercer is exceptionally quiet, as a result of the very long barrels, and the new propulsion method; instead of using electromagnetic energy, which tends to be very loud at high amounts, it uses a combination of a much weaker, but also relatively quiet set of rails in order to start the round’s acceleration, but then the gravity wells take over, and accelerate it further to the immense speed it obtains. These gravity wells are surprisingly quiet, and they make for great aircraft and spacecraft propulsion methods as well, as seen with crafts like the P-31U, and even most UFO’s, although these two use a slightly modified version of this technology, that utilizes magnetic field distortions instead.
Anyway without further ado, Have Fun!

Looks like a angry penguin.
Don’t ask why it spawns so far backwards in the designer, I have no idea lol
Its sad that i cant save it to my sub assemblies idk but it wont pick up the entire turret only some parts can you tell me which one i should click on to save it to my sub assemblies? Or can you make one into a sub assembly? Thank you and im planning to put this on one of my battleships
Now, let me show you the REAL rail cannon
but seriously, your build looks awesome
How is that 174 part?! It should be way more in my opinion
@Timothius Well in an irl situation, Radar would do all the dirty work. But this is SP, and simply isn’t very feasible. The statistic that lists how far it can shoot is just a statistic, a demonstration if you will. It only states the range of the weapon, without actually counting on if you have the ability to do so accurately.
@AWESOMENESS360 lol
@Simpleplayer1 I literally just posted it, you may call it underrated if you feel so inclined to do so later, once it’s seen a sizable amount of attention.
