You are in a dogfight. The enemy draws behind you, destroying your main engine. VTOL thrusters kick in and, smoke coming from your tail, you attempt to escape the onslaught of phaser fire. The dorsal point defense turret is blown to pieces above you: Wreckage rains past the cockpit. The enemy locks and fires four missiles. The computer fails: all the alarms stop. The cockpit window smashes. Sweat drilpping and covered with blood, the pilot removes the cover just before the missiles hit. As every light in the pilot's vision goes black and silent, he places his hand on the button, thinks of his past, and as distant memory's fill his mind, he presses it.

An hour later, he wakes up, alive.

But how did he survive?
