The Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II is an American twin-engine, straight-wing jet aircraft developed by Fairchild-Republic in the early 1970s. It is the only United States Air Force production aircraft designed solely for close air support, including attacking tanks, armored vehicles, and other ground targets with limited air defenses.

The A-10 was designed around the 30 mm GAU-8 Avenger rotary cannon that is its primary armament and the heaviest automatic cannon mounted on an aircraft. Its official name comes from the Republic P-47 Thunderbolt of World War II, a fighter that was particularly effective at close air support. However, the A-10 is more commonly known by its nicknames "Warthog" or "Hog".

An experimental two-seat A-10 Night/Adverse Weather (N/AW) variant was designed and built for specific operations. It included a second seat for a weapons system officer responsible for electronic countermeasures (ECM), navigation and target acquisition. The N/AW version did not interest the USAF or export customers. The two-seat trainer version was ordered by the Air Force in 1981, but funding was canceled by U.S. Congress and the jet was not produced.

This rough and tough bird flies like a dream. It features retractable gear, six missiles, and incredible detail. When taking off, achieve a ground speed of 180-200mph before gently pulling back on the stick. Although she flies great, landing is extremely difficult (because of the gear setup and the break physics in the game).

When touching down, avoid activating the breaks because it will cause an irrecoverable wobble. You must touch down at speeds below 150mph to have enough room to stop; hence the high level of difficulty in landing.

I've been holding on to this hog for a while now perfecting its looks and performance. As a thank you to the SimplePlanes community and all those involved, I present what I consider to be my best replication to date! I appreciate all who took the time to fly my planes and gav

Huh, all my planes are built on an iPad mini. I think your physics settings might be turned down. @THEaviator

Hmm, what device are you using and what do you have the game settings set too @THEaviator? I don't upload planes that don't function or break apart. As I only build on an iPad, some smaller/less powerful devices may reveal some issues...

The rudder is to wobbly and the wing that controls roll likes to break off. But everything else is awesome and very nice.

This is really a total mess of a plane. Start pulling it a part and there are cockpits left right and centre.

holy hell, I don't know how I missed this one. No B.S., this is by far the most accurate replica you have made yet. It is as perfect as it gets for the A-10. The wing construction is genius, and the cockpit is simply amazing. You take clipping to a whole new level, and redefine what is possible in this game. Seriously man, you are talented. I hope you do stuff in real life that showcases your eye for detail, cause this is art to me.

@Mkenz, I'm not one to turn down requests, but I have to admit I doubt I'll attempt a spitfire anytime soon. I say this because there are some truly great replicas that just recently came out, and I highly doubt I could match/exceed their quality. In the mean time, check these ones out; https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/HFtRJv/Spitfire-DB-605-Competition https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/bvILjk/MK-24-Griffon-Spitfire https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/f9xNJq/Supermarine-Spitfire-Mk-24
