IVLK-11a Puolikku (Crsnt. Moon) M. Bomber
The IVLK-11a Crescent Moon Medium Bomber was built based upon concepts drafted by the Ilmailuvoimien Lentokonetehdas (Air Force Aircraft Factory.) Its initial prototype was so unstable that minutes after take-off its experienced test pilot crashed and was killed instantly. It's second variation, the IVLK-11a, added pseudo-horizontal stabilizers which allowed the aircraft some measure of stability on its yaw axis. Unfortunately it has a propensity to pitch and bob with or without its bombload often leading to sea-sickness in inexperienced crewmen! Only 31 aircraft were produced and saw service at the very tail end of the conflict with the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in 1939. Of the 18 remaining airworthy airframes in 1954 they were formed into a single squadron and used during the opening phase of the war with Das Germanishe Weltreich. * Design credit belongs to @TheOwlAce all I added was a recolor, insignia and the story.
