Supermarine S.XIb
So; what if the Schneider Trophy was still a competition in the 1940's?
I would like to think that GB would field something like this.
The fictional Supermarine S.XIb
Powered by a very experimental Rolls Royce Double R 32 cylinder powerplant driving two colossal four blade counter rotating props with a power output of 6000 hp. During testing, one of the engineers christened the Double R the " mother in law"; extremely powerful, very tempremental and with the innate ability to ruin your day in the blink of an eye...
Good for around 430 mph at sea level. No fancy tricks, just start from the water, throttle up and hold on.
Oh, and use around one third throttle, trim full nose up and stick hard back on take off or she will try to sommersalt.
Good luck, have fun, pip pip tally ho, so on and so forth.

Nice idea @GhostHTX such great looking aircraft in that competition. Maybe a time trial like the real thing around some prominent features. Probably have to ban mods though or specify how many and what type of engines to be used?
Thanks! @Tang0five
I have a French, American and German Schneider Trophy 40's style model built too, just working on the Italian and then I was going to release them, as it were.
I was thinking a Schneider Trophy challenge sort of thing might be a nice idea, too...
Very apt description ref in-laws! Good job!
