The F-16C Fighting Falcon or more commonly referred as the Viper, is A Multi role fighter platform created to combat Enemy advisories air or ground. During the Vietnam war the U.S air force would experience A significant amount of losses caused by the reliability of immature missile technology and the use of aircraft that are inferior in maneuverability. The outcome of these causes became the Legacy Lightweight Fighter (LWF) fighter program. The LWF program requested A light maneuverable and cost effective solution. There were multiple submissions but the two final contenders were the General Dynamics YF-16 and the McDonald Douglas YF-17 Cobra. The winning Contenster ended being the YF-16 , over the course of A few years the YF-16 was developed into the legendary F-16 Fighting Falcon. The F-16 Fighting falcon is one of the best multi role fighter platforms and will continue to serve NATO for many years to come.
