In the summer of 1942, the German Army Command signed a contract with Krupp and Rhine metals to develop a self-propelled gun based on the Panther tank chassis. The planned guns are 128mmk43 and 15cm sfh43 respectively. According to different guns, the design scheme is called Grille 12 (128mm) and Grille 15 (150mm) respectively. Later, the military asked to install 15cm L / 63 gun on the chassis of Grille 15. The gun can penetrate 200mm thick armor at a distance of 4000m. Finally, the project was terminated and no prototype car was built
