I figured that if the main cockpit block is responsible for missile radar guidance, I could put a cockpit on a separated mouse-controlled platform while the wings control surface could be set to VTOL and Trim. In this way, the missiles could be aimed without the need to face the enemy.
The result is a terrible mess. The wing's control is stiff and janky, while the missiles are inaccurate.
Overall, the contraption does work but needs some tweaking.
