Man O' War
A giant replica of a Man O' War, a carnivorous animal similar to a jellyfish that floats on the surface of the water and trails behind long stinging arms. Mine has arms that use springs to detect pressure and grab anything that touches. Also includes 18 cannons with a 0.02 second firing delay because why not.
How to use
Throttle to fly up. Pitch up and down to go forward and backwards. VTOL up and down to reach the arms forward and backwards. Reach backwards to increase stability when flying forward and vice versa. It is buoyant so you can drive along the surface of the water.
AG1 to activate the arms. If you use this while moving quickly they might become tangled. The arms are segmented with 2 springs on each segment. When 1 of the springs is compressed the segment curves in that direction which causes a chain reaction that allows the arms to find and pick up objects without any input. I couldn't figure out a way to prevent the arms from trying to grab each other so they get more and more tangled the longer you play. The size of the build and arms makes it hard to pick up anything smaller than an airliner though.
AG2 to shake the arms. If AG1 is disabled this can help detangle them and separate from anything you picked up. If AG1 is enabled and you have already picked something up shaking the arms can help them find a better grip on the object.
There are cannons outlining the underside of the body. Reach backwards before firing. Try not to fire them while the arms are activated or reaching forward because they will probably get hit.

Man Of War but FUNNIER
Ohh look it's the bluebottle yes another one of Australia's great threats to humans Viewer discretion is advised/Medical procedures
the first thing that popped up in my head is radiohead's "Man Of War"
This isn't a man o war - it's a Kraken
The way the arms work is, from a SimplePlanes engineering standpoint, absolutely fascinating. You have created what is essentially Procedural Animation, a method of animating that follows no rigid set of premade animations, and instead flows freely via natural physics reactions, only directed by Ai processes coded into the behavior of whatever is being procedurally animated. RainWorld is a fantastic example of a game that utilizes this; to reference the game, the way the arms on your Man'O'War here function is strikingly similarly to the tentacle legs of a RainWorld Daddy-Long-Legs, I'm legitimately really impressed with this funky-trees behavior you've made for this creation, very VERY well done!!
These things are nasty irl
I had wanted to post somthing like this for years but I couldn't get the tentacles to work on my jelly fish. Thank you for making my dreams come true. 🥲
Cool
