F-6A Buckler
F-6A Buckler
Tanruil's Metal Fist
-Description-
The F-6A Buckler is a two-seater multirole aircraft designed with a focus on interception and anti-ship operations. Designed at the end of the Three-Week War, Tanruil sought an easy-to-maintain light fighter capable of defending her borders from airborne and seaborne threats. Its high thrust-to-weight ratio and unstable tail-less delta design allow superb maneuverability and acceleration that gives it the edge during both interceptions and any following escalations.
The aircraft's versatility earned it a position as the workhorse of the Tanruilian Air Defense Force, green-lighting additional modifications for carrying precision-guided strike munitions. Despite the aircraft's financial success in its hometown, it is unable to compete with Pulchriturian aircraft in the international market.
-Features-
- My first original design based heavily on the JAS-39 Gripen and F-16 Fighting Falcon
- Fixed refueling probe based on the Mirage 2000's
- Reduced Stability Mode for extreme high-alpha maneuvers
- Bandit aircraft capable of using the Reduced Stability Mode for dogfights
- Simple design without the use of custom landing gears or doors to keep things as low-end-friendly and Simpleplanes 2-compatible as possible
- Simple Fly-by-FT
- ReinMcDeer-styled control scheme simply because I'm too familiar with it now
- All original designs from here and forward will be using NewWorldAerospace's Ace Combat-ish weapons for their simplicity and balance

-Notes-
- Gun ammo is unlimited.
- On takeoff, feather pitch inputs to take off around 300 km/h.
- On landing, use the auto-flaps and adjust using pitch.
- To perform a Cobra maneuver - activate group 2, drop the bags, and get below 680km/h before pitching up. Once the plane's nose is near 90 degrees upwards, release the pitch and the plane will level out. If done correctly, the plane will even correct course on its own.
- The Bandit aircraft is highly capable in a dogfight at any speed below 680 km/h but can be kept up with using the Buckler's RSM. The Bandit also knows how to drop their fuel tanks at the start of a fight. I recommend giving it a try and giving me some input!
- This is the first time I've made my own aircraft completely from scratch after spending time just modifying other aircraft between workdays. I'm quite proud of being able to create an aircraft that sits somewhere in the center of arcade-y and realistic. Hopefully, this is the start of something great!
