Built under the Marineorden von 2070, The Admiral I class Battlecruisers will fill the need of new Shore Bombardment vessels which were in demand by the Admiralty for the past 25 years.

Development

The project known as Marineorden von 2070 called for massive modernization program for the Royal Equestrian Navy. Many current active ships in the navy were called for replacement with newer and up to date warships. The Admiralty asked for new class of shore bombardment vessels, It was debated whether to use full missile vessels or made an entirely new design which incorporates old traditional guns. This subject has been debated way back before the Marineorden von 2070 was officially mounted. Finally, the launching of both the Westerian BattleshipRWS Westeria and Questintonia's RQS Lion Heart settled the debate between Admiralty. It was finally decided to build an entirely new ship which incorporates Large Guns as it's main Shore Bombardment Weapon. Although Battleships were launched, The Admiralty decided to classify the ships as Battlecruisers.

Battlecruisers served through handful nations throughout the history, they started to decline in WW2 with only few of it's class serving. Only the Russian Navy possessed a Battlecruiser like ships although they weren't really classified as Battlecruisers as they were classified as Heavy Guided Missile Cruisers.

In Great Country Modern Navy Doctrine, Battlecruisers evolved from Large Caliber guns to Heavy Missile Vessels thus they became more powerful than Battleships. Only the most powerful of nations possess Battlecruisers as they were expensive and needed larger escorts to be operated. Not all Battlecruisers however were Missile based, some retain the old traditional way and work their purpose as bombardment vessels.
