Savoia Marchetti SM.82

The Wiki:
The Savoia-Marchetti SM.82 was an Italian bomber and transport aircraft of World War II. It was a cantilever, mid-wing monoplane trimotor with a retractable, tailwheel undercarriage. There were 875 (plus one prototype) built, the first entering service in 1940. Although able to operate as a bomber with a maximum bombload of up to 8,818 lb (4000 kg), the SM.82 saw very limited use in this role. The SM.82 was the foreign aircraft used in largest number by the Luftwaffe that operated several hundreds of this aircraft, as a transport. Post-war about 30 SM.82s continued in service with the Aeronautica Militare Italiana, many remaining in service until the early 1960s.

Flight Controls and Features:

-Standard SP Flight Controls
-G to Retract Gear
-VTOL for Flaps
-Trim for Trim

Takeoff:

15-20% Flaps and 80% Throttle. Let the plane do the work to get you airborne.

Average Cruise Speed is ~150mph. Trim to preference. This bird is easy to move around, no hard inputs necessary.

Landing:

Full Flaps and 30-50% throttle to maintain speed. Should hit the deck around 100mph. Retract flaps and apply brake.

Features:
-Custom Decals
-Custom Control Surfaces
-Custom wing design
-Custom Landing Gear

As Always:

A fun build for ThePilotDude's Air Transport Challenge. Definitely tried some new techniques for the wing design, and I'm very happy with how well they turned out. By far my best use of the inlet control surfaces yet. This bird is fun to fly and very leisurely to control. As always, please let me know if you have any suggestions for improvements or if there is a vehicle you would like to see recreated. Thank you so much for stopping by to look, and enjoy your flight!!

@BogdanX Thank you. I thought so too. But I did measure them. Had a hard time finding a good scale to use though. Thanks forbthe tips about the wings. They turned out nice
