Designed for Large Fighter Challenge. The Saab J19 is a transitional aircraft to the Saab J32 Lansen. The J19 Orm design has been optimized for anti-ship attack with its RB04 missiles. It has two 30mm ADEN guns and two missiles for self-defense and short-range interception RB24. The objective of this aircraft was the maritime suppression in case of confrontation during the cold war. The plane was built in a small number, and equipped 1 squadron of the Swedish navy. It was retired in 1967.
