Nope @vonhubert
@NativeChief1492
Hi! I wonder, did i miss the challenge results?
@vonhubert Yes, I guess it is realistic for the wings to buckle and rip if you fly a plane in a way it was never designed. I hadn't thought of that.
@F104Deathtrap it does explode sometimes when put into really sharp turn. But i think its ok) 190 tonn plane is not ment to fly like a fighter) Anyway, before exploding, it starts making some shrieking noises, just like i thing a real one would make at the edge of breaking))
p.s. feel free to use any parts from my planes. It would be interesting to see what others can do) write me if something doesnt work)
@vonhubert Well, I think it's awesome. I had no idea such things could be done without the wings randomly exploding. I'm definately going to have to expand my knowledge.
@F104Deathtrap well, REWs b747 is pretty similiar actually
@vonhubert Amazing. That has got to be the most sophisticated wing I've seen on here.
@F104Deathtrap well, thats strange about the turrets)
Well, the wings are more curious. Inner wing panels are normal wing-3 panels, 4 each side. But they are interconnected on 1 wing joint and 2 side rotators with 0 degrees. They are to make wings overall less flexible and stop rotating around wing axle. This made flaps stop "flaping" up and down whenever wing flexes and stopped aileron reversal (real life problem when you roll one side, but the wing bends changing angle of attack and make plane rotate another side, i was amused when met it in the game). And fuselage segments for the wings are independently connected to wing segments, they do not connect each other. Also i had to make outer flaps section be able to slide sideways along the wing trailing edge so they dont mess with wing flexing when deployed.
@vonhubert Never tried using zero. I did experiment by making my guns 10 feet long and it still didn't shake so bad. I tried taking apart your turret, and when I put it back together again the shaking stopped. It was kind of spooky because I still can't figure out why. I even looked at the xml code. I noticed that your wings are flexible despite their fuselage block exterior. Are you using some kind of magic that makes block connections flexible?
@F104Deathtrap well, all the turrets are already at 0,001 mass))) i tried 0- but it seemed that made it more shaky, may be it doesnt understand 0 mass.
@vonhubert Rotators wobble a bit when there's a lot of mass getting swung around. If you attach enough of them together, they become quite flexible, like a spring almost. Anyway, if you XML mod your guns and other moving parts to have little or no mass, they will probably wobble less. Or you could move all of them to the center of the turret (directly above the X-axis rotator) and mod the guns to be long enough to reach outside the dome.
@F104Deathtrap sure) not exactly faster, the're just fine, but less shaky - totally)
@vonhubert I see you've figured out how to make turrets :) If you want, I can show you how to make them faster and less shakey.
@ChiChiWerx Sure, you have until April 6th
@NativeChief1492 I've finally uploaded mine yesterday)
NativeChief1492, would you consider extending the deadline for this challenge? I'm around 95% done with my bomber, but need a few extra days to finish.
@NativeChief1492 ok
@TheMutePaper Sure
@NativeChief1492 can we do parts from other players as long as we credit? i have trouble with torpedoes
@vonhubert k
@NativeChief1492 Thanks. I'm more or less ready, but can't finish due to job overload. I think i would be able to finish on the weekend, april 2nd evening
@vonhubert I let you pass, you start building. A light bomber is fine!
unfortunately, i most likely wont be able to submit my plane before the deadline...
@NativeChief1492 ok as long it is a light bomber?
@TheMutePaper It is acceptable for one engine, you may bypass other rules as needed (that effect your design)
