The Boeing 747, also known as the Jumbojet, is a large four-engine jet airliner manufactured by the Boeing Company. The Boeing 747 is the second largest passenger aircraft in the world after the Airbus A380. The production of the Boeing 747 was considered a major revolution in the passenger aircraft industry at the time and was the largest passenger aircraft in the world for forty years. Boeing 747 with four engines and a two-story structure can carry up to 550 passengers. Unlike the Airbus A380, the second floor in the Boeing 747 is not complete and is limited to the front of the aircraft. (This content is copied from Tayareh's blog) The idea of ??building the 747 was proposed by Boeing in the mid-sixties, after which the US Army signed a contract with Boeing to purchase a large number of these aircraft to strengthen its fleet. Boeing then announced the design of its passenger model, which resulted in the 747-100 flying in 1969. A year later, in 1970, this model of the 747 began its first service for Pan American Airlines. Boeing 747 found a special place in the eyes of the general public and passengers of international flights, and it is not without reason that they called it the queen of the skies.
The 291st Boeing 747 was produced and the first of the two 747-200 ordered by IranAir was built with the serial number 21217. It made its first flight on 21/07/1976 and was delivered to this company on 05/10/1976 [corresponding to 13 Mehr 1355]. Source: Airplane blog

In September 1361, it was leased to Nigeria Airways for two months for Hajj flights.

This plane was finally retired after 38 years of flying for the flag carrier of our country named "Azerabadgan" in 2013 and currently, while removing the Homa logo from it, it is in the eastern part of Imam Khomeini Airport and next to other decommissioned planes. Parked outside.

Gotta love Iran Air still using vintage aircraft for as long as they did. IIRC they’ve still got A300s and an A310 in passenger service.
