The left scale is used to extend the landing gear (for takeoff, they must be extended). The right scale is used to turn on the VTOL jet engines (turn on without extending the landing gear, immediately turn on the piston engines after taking off from the ground, and after they start, you must turn off the jet engines). It takes a little learning.
