The A-226 Feather is a small 2 place gyrocopter built for recreational flying.
Being an autogyro the main rotor is always in autorotation while the air flows upwards through the main rotor.

INSTRUCTIONS:
press 2 to activate and spin up main rotor then press 2 agian to deactivate
press 1 to activate engine
press 6 and use slider to gradually apply rotor brake

PARAMETERS:
Takeoff Speed: 175-180 MPH
Cruise Speed: 185-198 MPH
VNe: 270 MPH

WARNINGS:
never exceed a speed of approx 270 MPH
aviod excess for and aft movements
aircraft can be hard to takeoff/land due to dissymmetry of lift

    @corsair013 I might add that with the gyros i found that having a teetering head works perfectly to ease the change in tilt while ascending and descending or turning, like the one on this model

    @corsair013 This is possible, you just have to have a way for the blades to flap and have the rotor disc tilted a certain angle (between 20 - 35 degrees seems to do it) to allow as much air to flow through as possible. I like to use the hinges and make the blades themselves able to flex to achieve this. You also have to make sure the blade size is relative to the aircraft (too big or small blades wont spin up fast enough). Also with gyros the blades DO NOT need a way to change thier angle of attack like a helicopter would. Hope this helps.

    @VIRGADYNAMICS How do you do that? I thought autogyration was impossible! I tried several times to get the blades to spin up on their own!
