To start off the year, I would build replicas of video games from my nostalgia. Because I usually start out with baby steps, I built the tank from the Atari Arcade classic Battlezone (1980), famous for being one of the very first video games to use polygon graphics, a revolutionary and novel concept for the time. Also, the game was originally developed developed as a simulator for the army to train recruits for tank driving. No, Seriously, it's true. Pitch and Roll for thrust and steering.
