With the main mission of being Brazil's new MBT to replace the Leopard 1A5 BR and the M60A3TTS and with a secondary mission of being exported to Middle Eastern countries, the EE-T3 Guará 1 is a project by Engesa, with a design based on the EE-T1/T2 Osório and the Leopard 2A4, It is considered a continuation of the 80s Osório project, which was discontinued due to financial problems.
