Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger B Work In Progress

Only a work in progress, but i just had to share it and see what everyone else thought of it. I will be adding more details to the tank later on. Big thanks to Puredeath for the wheels, they made the thing drive so much smoother. To drive: VTOL down and throttle up to move forwards, and VTOL up for reverse. Hull turning is controlled using yaw while the throttle is active. The turret is moved using roll, and sadly, there is no gun pitch. Please Enjoy!

@Roo great, oh, and nvm about the modded part. Simple planes hates me and reset all the data, didn't want me to get back in until I re downloaded the game
@Awesomeplanes No I have not, I will look! :)
@Roo, have you seen the complete version, looks way better. Oh, and are you able to mod pieces. I have a huge (understatement of the month) creation and can't build the wheels because of its size
Nice job! The only thing i could see to add it the cupola. :D
Awesome! I can't wait to see the final work! (Even tho I can't download) :P
@Martijnproper lol, that last bit made me laugh. Yes, the ferdi tiger would burst into flames because of the rpm in the electric motors, my other problem would be control sticks (joysticks, levers, etc.).
@Awesomeplanes : Then you'll probably also remember Freddy's Tigers used to catch fire because the electrics got too hot? Cooling fans are required ;) I do think it's the better option though because it has the least moving parts. Gears and such can be a hassle to fit into a wood system; you'd have to weld a steel chassis to attach all the mechanics to. Really, if teleportation existed I'd come over and help out. My garden is way too small for what you have in mind.
@Martijnproper you do have a point with the two electric motors, generator and all that, it's even the same idea Ferdinand Porche used in his tiger. I was also thinking along the same lines as you for an armourment, a very big spud gun with a compressed air launcher. The tracks would just be a conveyer belt with holes cut in for the drive wheels to catch and track pads bolted to the outside.
Seriously, you seem to have more building space than me. E-drive could negate the need for a gearbox when properly controlled, two motors for the driving wheels with a generator and fuel tank in the rear? You could also add a compressor and a 128mm spud gun ;) I'd build a unitary drive platform that you can swap between different chassis. But what would you use for tracks? cut-up car tyres?
@Martijnproper lol. The only problem with the gasoline/electric is building a transmission and clutch for steering. The other tanks I would build would be the Maus, or the Jagtiger. The other problem would be fitting the entire engine, the transmission, and the fuel tank in, with enough room for myself, and I'm about 5 foot 8/9. Not very small.
@Awesomeplanes : or gasoline / electric 😃. Seriously, I'll be jealous when you do that. Although I'd build a StuG B or Panther II w. Schmalturm & 88mm KwK L71...
@Martijnproper sounds pretty cool. I have been planning but haven't started a 1:5/1:4 scale Vk 45:01 (Ferdinand Tiger 1) that I can fit inside of and drive. The only problem is the drive, but I think a hydrostatic would work.
They were about 1:60 scale so around four inches for the Tiger I. Made them from (rather cheap) wood & gave them to my nephew a while ago. There was this broken knot in the wood and I wasn't happy with the details. Also, I run a website about German armor: mylittlepanzer.org.
@Martijnproper wow, how big are they, and what did you make them with
@Awesomeplanes : No worries, so do I. I even built them from scratch 😓
@Martijnproper dude it's ok, humans all make mistakes. I only knew because I have the Könistiger and the Tiger 1 revell models in my house.
Okay... * This is an apology * Apparently I shouldn't be so f#ing sure of myself and go into discussions when I should be playing with my kids. The PzKpfw 6B Königstiger indeed had two rows of road wheels. You're right. I was wrong. I have no idea why this was so fixed in my mind but I was utterly certain.
@Wormforce I know the hulls a little flat, but there's only so much you can do on iOS
@Martijnproper I can move the turret back a ways, it's not hard, the there is only two rows of road wheels, you can see them in pictures, overlapping. You must be thinking of the Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger Ausf. E, which had three rows of overlapping wheels.
@Awesomeplanes : Quite certain on the three rows. Also, my mistranslation; I meant turret, not cupola. ... I'm being very strict, I know. This is one of my favourite vehicles and I'd like to see it be all it can. Good build so far, will keep checking in.
No details its amazing the way it is
The hull is too flat but except that, you did an impressive work ! The turret looks amazing an very accurate :)
And there was only two rows of road wheels
@Martijnproper I said this is a work in progress and I haven't even added a cupola or anything else. The Porche versions and Krupp/Henchel versions are the same chassis, just different turret, and yes, I am building the Henchel turret. The road wheels look how they are because it would have been too hard to make them perfectly accurate. The wheel placement is also correct, overlapping wheels with four sets of two on the inside and five sets of two on the outside.
Okay, tank nut here. I can't download the thing on iOS (too big) but I can tell you the cupola is way too big and a bit too much forward. You're trying to build the Krupp/Henschel version. It had three rows of road wheels and the hull extend more downward. Please remember I'm used to counting bolts on these things.
