Introduction

The IRIS-T (Infra Red Imaging System Tail/Thrust Vector-Controlled) is a German-led program to develop a short-range infrared homing air-to-air missile to replace the AIM-9 Sidewinder found in some NATO member countries. Any aircraft capable of firing the Sidewinder is also capable of launching the IRIS-T.

the abily of the missile to lock on after lauch is very useful becaue it enables the missile to lock on a target completely behind the launch aircraft. This ability of the missile is very useful in a dogfight.

60-G turn rate:

the missile can withstand 60-Gs in a trun thanks to its thrust vectoring technology.

Missed in the first try ? dont worry the missile will turn around for a second try.

This missile can also be fired during the merge and you wont even need to turn around. If the seoration between the two aircraft is good enough the missile will hit.

8 kiometers is the maximum range of this missile and there is enough propllant in the missle to turn around at close range.

small disclaimer:

if the physics setting is set on low the missile will start to wiggle a lot while taking sharp turns so keep the physics on medium or high .
