My homage to the project that created Bockscar and Enola Gay as well as the other B-29s modified to use the atom bomb. The "Silverplate" bombers were different to standard B-29s as they had variable pitch propellers, allowing them to be reversed over the assembly pits in order to load their devastating payload.


FEATURES

  • Fully independent engine controls

    • AG1 for No.1 (port outboard) engine throttle and pitch through to AG4 for No.4 (starboard outboard) engine.
    • Pitch can go to fully feathered at full VTOL Up, or to a slight reversal at full VTOL Down.
  • Functional rudder and elevator trim tabs.

    • AG6+VTOL for rudder trim tab, locks in place on deactivation of AG6.
    • AG7+VTOL for elevator trim tabs, locks in place on deactivation of AG7.
  • Functional flaps.

    • AG5+VTOL down to operate.
  • Custom Control Surfaces.

    • They aren't the cleanest looking you'll see, but they're effective.
    • AG8 to deactivate. Useful if you decide to rig operable turrets.

SAFE OPERATING LIMITS AND SPECIFICATIONS.

  • Engine throttle setting MUST NEVER EXCEED 15% when pitch is in the neutral position.
  • Aircraft can operate on a minimum of 2 (TWO) engines, although these engines MUST NOT BE ASYMMETRIC. e.g. No.2 and No.3 engines can maintain safe flight but No.1 and No.3 cannot.
  • Stall speed is approximately 120mph, dependent on configuration.
  • V2 speed is approximately 140mph, again dependant on configuration.
  • Cruising airspeed is approximately 330mph at 80% throttle at 43,000ft.
  • Optimal speed for ailerons is above 200mph.
  • Optimal speed for flaps to become effective is 150mph.
