Beluga!

The Airbus A300-600ST Super Transporter is an Airbus wide—body jet cargo aircraft for the transportation of bulky goods.

Due to the decentralized location of production facilities, the Airbus consortium needed a powerful transport aircraft that would allow, for example, to transport parts of the cabin of the Airbus A310 from Hamburg to Toulouse. At the beginning of the company's activity, the use of a Super Guppy transport aircraft was sufficient, but due to the fact that the dimensions of parts and ready—made subsystems were becoming larger and larger, an Airbus A300-based transport aircraft was developed — the Airbus A300-600ST, better known as Beluga. The name Beluga comes from the shape of the aircraft body, which resembles a beluga whale (beluga in English and some other languages; not to be confused with beluga).

The working volume of the aircraft's transport compartment is about 1400 m3. The transport compartment is 37.7 m long and 5.43 m wide. The fuselage diameter is 7.40 m. With this size, Beluga takes on board a pair of Airbus A330 wings or most parts of the Airbus A319 body.

At full load (47 tons), the flight range reaches about 1,700 km at speeds up to 750 km/h (M 0.7). At half load (26 tons), the flight range increases to 4,600 km.
