Because the Reno Air Race will be having its last competition in September, I wanted to make a challenge of probably the the most popular and my favorite category, the Unlimited Category.

So here are the restrictions, you must base your plane off of a real WW2 or post WW2 propeller aircraft, good examples are the P-51D Mustang, Hawker Sea Fury, Grumman F8F Bearcat, or any one that is your favorite.

The modifications must make the original aircraft recognizable. You can modify the engines to a plausible horsepower, no 9,999 hp engines. You may use XML to adjust the mass and drag of the aircraft, but keep it reasonable, and close to the original aircraft. No jets allowed.

Every aircraft will be raced based on AI, so I will not affect the races in any way. The courses used will be determined later.

Points are based by the following categories:
Looks (5pts): Can I tell what the original aircraft is? And is it colorful, with a name and number.
Performance (10pts): Speed, maneuverability, ease of flying, that’s what it is about.
Viability (5pts): Are your modifications plausible? And do they make sense to the aircraft you applied them on?
Race Place: Where you place in the race will determine your bonus points, the amount of contestants will be the max points, and goes down from there. I will enter my Die Hummel, and you can use it to test how well your plane can do.

Disqualification will be applied to any aircraft that does not follow the rules, please keep it reasonable. Also stealing designs is a no go.

Contest ends April 10th, so take your time to build something cool!
