The P-51 fighter, developed by North American Aviation, was born in World War II. It was originally developed for the United Kingdom, equipped with the British Merlin engine, and made its first flight on October 26, 1940. The company model NA-73. In August 1941, the British air force was first used and the US Army was tested on the XP-51 model. It was formally adopted by the U.S. Army in December 1941 and was widely used in Eurasian battlefields. It was still used by many countries after World War II until the Korean War.
